I AM USING THE "OLD" standard mode and it is still not working right. If i change projmode to 0, 1 or 2 it doesan't make any difference it will still not see a line to extend to unless it is crossing. what other setting is there that i am missing?

Hello, I'm experiencing some issues with AutoCAD 2024. The trim and extend functions don’t work like they used to, which is slowing me down significantly. Could anyone guide me on how to revert these commands to behave as they did in AutoCAD 2020? Thanks!

Hi,

Read the help[F1] about both commands,

and the 2021 whats new topic

You will learn about the new default 'quick mode'

and how you can change it to the standard mode (this is how you know it from previous version).

Using the command 'setvar edgemode 1' worked for me to solve this problem.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-land-desktop-read-only/extend-to-apparent-intersection/m-p/1647824/highlight/true#M49230
