Hi,

>> if it is possible to import shape files into AutoCAD 2018

Sorry, NO. SHP dataset's can not be imported with plain (Vanilla) AutoCAD.

In case you do have AutoCAD Map 3D or AutoCAD Civil 3D ... then yes. 2 commands to get SHP datasets into the drawing:
to import: command _MAPIMPORT

to reference: command _MAPCONNECT

But you might find tools in www which can convert SHP datasets to DXF (like >>>QGIS<<<) and then read the DXF (but be careful about geographic coordinate systems and units).

HTH, - alfred -

Hello

I have been sent shape files (shx, shb) to import into AutoCAD 2018 so that I can then run Vehicle Tracking to test a layout. I wanted to see if it is possible to import shape files into AutoCAD 2018. If it is possible then how is it done ? I would welcome some advice please.

Regards

Mike

... shape files (shx, shb) to import into AutoCAD 2018 ...

For those with only plain AutoCAD (2010 or higher), grab the GeoLocation Lite Freeware, no LT support.
