Hi,

>> With the help of Q GIS software ,I am extracting contour from DEM data of particular region

And which export format did you chose?

When I run the extract function I get (in QGIS) a dialog with the option to define an attribute where to save the elevation to.

(sorry for German screenshot, but the dialog positions are the same)

Then I can use Civil 3D to import that SHP dataset and with ADEQUERY I can get the polylines at the elevation I need to create a surface with Civil 3D.

(this forum thread might help to see the workflow with MAPIMPORT, ADEQUERY ... >>>click<<<, just don't use thickness, you need elevation)

Hi

As i am extracting contour from DEM ,but whenever i am going to open contour file in cadd it shows 0 elevation ,can anybody answer me .as i want to generate slope analysis in Civil 3d Which requires Z values also.

>> As i am extracting contour from DEM

How did you do that, which application or function did you use? Because as you say that you have got all resulting polylines on Z=0 we have to look into this extraction process.

I was trying to finding a solution for creating 3d contours too. Thank you for your good explanation. But can you describe what you are writing under the current property attributions? I don't understand this (*3.28:Elevation@Countour) expression.
