Here's my linetype file that I've put together. There are definitely a few in there that should be what you are looking for. Easiest way is to find the linetype you like then just copy and paste it into your drawing. Then it's in there for you to add to a layer. I do it this way because they all have crazy names. That is why I just put a little sample line of each type in the dwg. That way it's easy to pick one that I need just by the look of it. Much more work to change the names to things that make sense.

I recently organized it a little bit. I put all the linetypes that are double lines and single line under headers, so you can tell which are double lines. Also started putting all the lines with text in them under a header. I think I noticed a few I missed though.

We don't use too many crazy line types where I work. Most of the more bizarre ones in that file I've scavenged from consultants drawings just to create a sort of collection as a hobby. Mostly from civil guys as it seems they love to make linetypes. If I need something odd occasionally, I can usually find something close enough in this file. It's faster and easier than making a new one from scratch. Although some of the ltscales are crazy in that file and I'll need to override it in properties to get it to show up correctly. Sometimes .000001 or other ridiculous scales

The included lisp pulls all the linetype .lin files out of the drawing you run it on. You could run it on the linetype file I had attached above and look at the linetype file you are interested in. It might give you some in site on how they are created. I know a few of them are a mystery how they were made even to a few people much smarter than me at autocad. I haven't used that lisp in a long time, but if I remember right it puts all the .lin files in one file so you need to look through the names to find the matching one. I think it also puts the file in your documents folder.

Sorry I'm not much help on the "how" to make them. I grabbed a few I thought were neat out of a drawing once and it kind of snowballed from there. I've made linetypes but none as complex from scratch as you are talking about.

Forgot that you can't attach .vlx files to this forum. I had to change it and add .dwg to the end. After you download it, in windows explorer, go to the right click properties of that file, on the general tab it has the name of the file with the extensions and just delete the .dwg I added. It should work after that.

As a guess, the funkier linetypes in your file were originally imported from uStn DGN drawings, and there's not a 'native' way to do them with acad .lin linetype definitions. (I'd be happy to be proven wrong though,,,)

I was. Those in your "Many Line Types" drawing are not standard AutoCAD linetypes (though they "work" in AutoCAD), but I think must come out of some overlay program with a special capability. I tried a utility that extracts a linetype definition from one loaded in a drawing, but it didn't succeed. Copying/pasting into another drawing, and then matching properties, seems to be the only way to use them in plain AutoCAD. I'd love to know myself how they're defined [so as to be able to make variants on them], and/or why they're usable at all without the overlay program they come from, but so far....

I believe that many if not most of the linetypes in the many_linetypes file provided by @gotphish001 are actually imported from DGN files and are not actually AutoCAD linetypes. They essentially have no .LIN type content and are created as a ACAD_DGNLINESTYLECOMP library. Each DGN linetype is managed by extension dictionaries and were originally the result of using DGNIMPORT. These types of linetypes can really blow up your file size. Note that the file itself is 1.3MB and contains only a few hundred lines. In the code box is an excerpt of the LIN definitions for a few of them. Note that there is no content after the A. All of the implementation is done via the DGN import mechanism. Even the line types that have some content after the A defer the actual geometry to the extension dictionary mechanisms and anonymous blocks.

I did not see anywhere that someone shared those files. I made existing, new and demo linetypes along with the shape file that were modeled after la county guidelines and work with imperial civil scales. There a couple of others in the file that you can either disregard or use.

I put this EOP linetype together - hopefully it'll help you or whoever else may be looking for one.

*EOP,EOP ___///____///____///____
A,.1,["|",TXT,S=.2,R=325],.1,["|",TXT,S=.45,R=325],.1,["|",TXT,S=.2,R=325],3

My drawings use an LTSCALE of 15 so you may need to make adjustments depending on your LTSCALE and the desired spacing of the symbols.

You can also easily change the angle of the "crows feet" by editing the R=XXX number.
