PDFIMPORT doesn`t import text

Hi,

I am trying to import pdf file into AutoCAD using PDFIMPORT command. These are my settings during the import:

PDFIMPORT doesn`t import any text.

Please have a look at attached pdf.

Maybe a shx instead of a TrueType font.

If I look at the pdf it seems "rasterized".

Probably not created with "dwg to pdf".

Is there some way to convert these fonts into text within autocad ?

How can I check before importing pdf if there are shx or truetype fonts ?

If only truetype fonts are compatible with Autodesk products why Autodesk doesn`t prohibit using other fonts` types ?

I also wonder why PDFIMPORT creates the squares instead of text even if it is a True Type font ?

These were just suggestions.

I think the quality of the pdf is not good enough.

Pdf should be created by the autocad "dwg to pdf" printer (gives a much cleaner result).

TrueType fonts are windows fonts and in the past I found out that it makes your drawing big and slow.

Shx fonts don't cause the problems that truetypes create.

Autocad did "read" the text on my pc (solid fills was checked).

But it is no text, therefore the quality of the pdf should be better.

I don't know what you want to do with it and maybe it is good enough so I put the file as attachment.

So if there is shx font I have to import solid fills. I didn`t know that.

I have learned how to check before importing it it is ttf or shx font used in PDF. I have to zoom in and check the look of the font. If it looks horrible it means it is a shx font.

But have a look at attached pdf. It looks it was printed using dwg to pdf and there is ttf font used inside the drawing table. After importing there are squares visible in the table instead of text.

No, shx fonts don't have a weight.

The only shx fonts I see are marked in red, the rest is all truetype.

If the font looks horrible the pdf is not created very well.

The second pdf is a better one.

Better quality and that is why autocad can read the text.

I think the problem with the squares is due to the fact that you don't have the same TrueType fonts installed on your system (Arial Baltic maybe ?).

@-FDC- have a look at this title:

It must be written with the same Font and the last word was imported properly and other ones not.

I agree but Autocad probably substituted this line to Arial because it had no "strange" characters in it.

Arial does not have the characters marked in red (must be the Arial Baltic font)
