Drawing a compound curve in AutoCAD

Dear,

I fail the knowledge how to draw a flange on an arc 🙂

the second picture is how the part has to be drawn.

i managed to draw what you see on the first picture, it's just the shape of the arc "side viewed"

can anyone help me ?

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I can't read the numbers in the correct version (sorry - old eyes I guess).

Is this a combination of arcs? I suggest plotting points at each of the locations and then connecting them with a polyline. Is that what you are trying to do?

Are you asking how to construct the three arcs (radii = 60 25/64, 100 25/64, 418 9/32) such that they are tangent where they join?

good morning,

it's an U-shaped profile, rolled/bended into 3 different radii (10624.3 , 2550 and 1534) as Lee Minardi stated in his post.

it's the U-shape that i am have trouble with (as a flat part would be easy), i am trying to use Revolve on the 3 different axis after drawing the u-shape on a sketch, but i can't click on the axis i have put out on distance 10624.3 for starters, probably because i try to revolve on 2 different planes i think.

Instead of using revolve try sweep instead. After creating the three arcs join them together with pedit. Create a sketch of the u-shaped cross section on the XY plane and then use align to position it perpendicular to the tangent of the end arc. In the following image the red line is tangent to the arc, the cyan line 90° to it in the xy plane, and the green line perpendicular to the red and green lines. You can use these three lines with the align command to position the cross section as needed before doing the sweep. Once the cross section is appropriately positioned you can use sweep and the section will be properly oriented.
