Cannot remove UCS

I've tried:

UCSICON [off]

UCSDETECT [0]

Getting out of AutoCAD and reloading.

No matter what my curser always shows the x coordinate and the angle.

I want to get back to my curser showing x,y coordinates.

I tried UCSMAN Settings. I removed check marks one by one. Made no difference, curser still shows radius, angle.

Set your UCS and PLAN to World.

That symbol on the ribbon is not there. Also:

"Try one of the following solutions:" [There is no Coordinates panel shown]

Use the UCS command and select World.
On the View tab of the Ribbon, go to the Coordinates panel and select World from the drop-down menu.
Under the ViewCube expand the coordinate system drop down and select WCS.
On the command line in AutoCAD, type PLAN and then World.

If I understand correctly, it has nothing to do with a UCS. You can see the XYZ cursor position in the status line. If you don't see coordinates down there, pick on the "hamburger" icon at far lower right, and check Coordinates at the top to turn on that display. It can display in four ways -- see Help about the >COORDS System Variable<. If you have Dynamic Input on, that seems to still show only distance and angle, but the status line Coordinates display can show what you want [it sounds like you want COORDS = 1]. You can pick in that Coordinates display itself to change the COORDS setting. But if you do that with no command active, it merely toggles between 0 and 2. Do it in mid-command [e.g. while drawing a Line, or Moving something], and it cycles through 0 / 1 / 2.

Watch changes in the Coordinates display at the bottom -- the manner of display up in the drawing area with dynamic input on does not change. This is during a Line command. At first, the Coordinates display is what I think you want with COORDS = 1 [continuously updating coordinates with cursor movement]. After the first Line, I picked in the display to go to COORDS = 0 [fixed display until I pick somewhere], then after a couple more, again to go to COORDS = 2 [distance and angle], then after another couple, again to go back to COORDS = 1.

Yes I did this and it now hows the x,y,z coordinates in the status bar as you mention. But still, the curser shows a radius and angle. I want the curser to show the x,y,z coordinates. This is how it always was using AutoCAD until I used the UCS command to draw a radial line. Having the x,y,z coordinates just in status bar is not what I want.

If you are talking about this, this is not the UCS icon, but dynamic input.

If you want this to display cartesian coordinates instead of polar (as shown above) you need to make the adjustments here:

It looks like I've tried everything, but still getting polar coordinates on the curser when making a line. Is there anything else to try?

We are all trying to understand what you're saying.

Note:

The display will change by clicking or right clicking on the Coordinate Status bar.

If you want to see the coordinates on the cursor when making a line [while having dynamic input on], just enter your coordinates.

At first you will see input for XY for your first point.

For your second, you will see the Distance and Angle, but...

if you enter your X followed by a comma [,] you can enter your Y.

I do not see why I would use dynamic input ever. I make lines by using the grid snap and object snap. I have no interest in typing in coordinates. In your images it shows the curser as polar coordinates on the end snap for a line. This is what I want to get rid of. The second point of the line should show always show x,y coordinates not polar coordinates. I have used AutoCAD for a number of years and the curser only showed the x,y coordinates when creating lines or polylines.

I've tried that. Still does not work. Creating line still shows polar coordinates no x,y coordinates (when setting end point of line). I have even reset AutoCAD to default settings. Problem persists. It's making drawing nearly impossible.

The only thing I think at this point is to uninstall AutoCAD and downlod it again. Does anyone think that is a good idea?
