There is no automatic and convenient option to do that.
Why not take your laptop to your friends Computer location and make it a lesson in adding those features?

I had a friend teach me how to use AutoCad on his computer. He was using 2014. I have since installed AutoCad 2015 on my own laptop. Is there a way to transfer preferences? Mainly, the setup of the toolbars, as I do know how to change cursor/snap settings manually, though I imagine it's slower than an automatic transfer.

if your friend taught you AutoCAD using classic workspace, that setup is no longer available out of the box starting in 2015.

If you are looking for the classic space Edwin Prakoso put together a nice script to achieve it. https://www.cad-notes.com/autocad-script-to-create-classic-workspace-automatically/
