I see you have a solution of using Inventor r Fusion 360. If you are new these may be the better way to go.

Yet if you still want to try AutoCad 3d there are a few things which may be helpful

Check out the AutoDesk App store.

-This app will help apply the machining used in woodworking. The same person has several different apps for the wood industry.

DadoJoint App

-3d Stretch is a must have when working with 3d in AutoCad. As Autodesk does not supply a stretch command for 3d objects this addon works very well.

3d Stretch App

There are a few add on packages for woodworking, though most of these can be expensive and are best when the user is experienced.

Lastly, if you are using Inventor or Fusion360 check the app store, there are some good apps to help you.

Which softwares should be used to produce drawings for woodworking production?

Hi,

I am new to 3D software design. I am working on some simple DIY projects. Could anyone please give me some advice on which softwares should be used to produce drawings for woodworking production and installation? I need the all joinery is shown up on the drawings such as hinged joints, bolted joints and wood joints.

I've tried with the AutoCAD 3D. It works great. But I found it is hard to denote joinery on the drawing.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks.

Hi,

AutoCAD is one of the Autodesk products, you might look also to Inventor (>>>click<<<) as well as Fusion 360 (which is free under some special situations, e.g. for private use ... >>>click<<<)
