Fatal error: Unhandled exception in AutoCAD 2018

Good Day, i am experiencing problems with my autocad 2018 suddenly. on start up an error message pops up saying

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0088 Exception at 78d8a72h

i have tried updating my .net to 4.7.1

updated graphics drivers.

updated to windows 10 fall update.

reset to default autocad settings.

updated autocad hotfix 5.1 update

Only way i can get the program to run is by adding /NOHARDWARE to the end of the shortcut target

I am a currently using a student license as i am still studying and this will impact my studies if i cannot solve the issue.

any assistance will be highly appreciated

If the no hardware switch allows the program to run, this would lead me to believe that there is an issue with your video card drivers. The latest and greatest is not always the best, check to see if your card is on the certified hardware list, and if not, try the latest driver, then roll it back a version or two and see if the issue improves.

I agree that this does sound like a graphics driver issue.

When your system crashes, do you have the opportunity to submit a crash report? If so, can you give me that report number so I can take a look at what was captured at the time of the crash?

I haven't seen you return to this thread but if you have the chance, please check your WINVER. The 16299.2438 build seems to be causing problems for some customers.

If you have this installed, please try uninstalling KB4074588. At hits point in time i suggest that the .214 build will likely work better.
