I basically do what imad said except I use the group and ungroup commands. I threw them on my quick toolbar because I use that all the time for what you are speaking of. I only use group over block because you can be more reckless with ungroup as opposed to explode. I've clicked hatch a few times by mistake with explode and it can be undone but I had to wait while it exploded it. Plus if you miss that you exploded something you didn't intend to, it can be a pain later. I also like groups because I can go in and change one item with pickstyle variable without breaking the group or going into block edit which is slightly slower. I also put pickstyle variable on my quick tool bar.

Hi and Welcome to AutoCAD Forum,

if you want to get back for your origin items , i suggest to make them selected and moved as one body by convert them to a block by BLOCK command . when finished you can EXPLODE the block to get them back separately .

There is no option to re-select newly created copies.
If I know that I would need to somehow adjust new copies - I would rather make copy to some free space where is ease to re-select them, and use move command. Then I can rotate previous, move previous... just a workaround.

Or try the MOCORO express tools command. This command allows move copies.

Here's a way to do that, if you can think of the need to do it this way before you begin:

Instead of using COPY as you typically would, first Copy the selection in place, that is, from 0,0 to 0,0 or from any base point to the same point as the new location.

Then MOVE the Previous selection using the same displacement you would have used to Copy them.

Now the Previous selection will be in the new location. It won't actually be the copies you just made [those will still be at the original location], but rather the originals, but in the new location. You can then do any other kind of editing command on them, including multiple operations, using Previous for the selection.
