Linetype scale in Model Space not showing properly

I have a problem with dashed lines not showing properly in Model Space, but they do in Paper Space.

See Screenshot below:

Linetype scale in MS and PS

The Linetype is set to: ACAD_ISO03W100 (ISO dash space)

The Linetype Scale is set to: 0.1

The System Variables ar set as follows:

LTSCALE <1.0000>

PSLTSCALE <1>

MSLTSCALE <1>

DIMSCALE <1.000>

What should I do to make the linetype in Model Space display the same way as in Paper Space?

I have read the following topics:

Since MSLTSCALE = 1, the linetypes displayed on the Model tab are scaled by the annotation scale. What is your annotation scale set to, and/or try setting MSLTSCALE = 0, if you don't want that to factor in.

I changed MSLATSCALE = 0 and REGENALL but nothing changed.

My Annotation Scale is set to 1:1

Any other ideas?

Go to MS, look at the bottom line. It is approximately 6 units long.

Okay, now look at the linetype definition for ACAD_ISO03W100.

It's defined as a 12 unit dash followed by an 18 unit gap.

Your entity linetype scale is 0.1.

Your MSLTSCALE = 0 (so it's not a factor).

Your LTSCALE = 1.0

So the dash length will be 12 (from the linetype definition) times 1.0 (LTSCALE) times 0.1 (the entity linetype scale).

Which means the dash length is 1.2 units, and then of course the gap length is 1.8 units.

AutoCAD linetypes must begin and end with a dash, so stretch out that bottom line so that it is about 10X as long.

Now eyeball measure each dash and gap, and you will find the dashes are 1.2 units and the gaps are 1.8 units.

The reason they look different in the viewport in the layout, is that the scale of the viewport is ±27.149

Everything is working as designed.

In addition to other replies.. I see your posted file units is set to millimeters and your lines are between 1.1mm and 5.8mm in length: if I look at your earlier posted image you show floor plans. Are you by chance drafting your floor plan with 2.9mm wide doors? Are you not drafting at 1:1 scale there buddy? That maybe your actual problem.

for me on the bottom of the cad window i have changed the scale shown in model space(attached) to match the scale of the viewport on paper space

it should show an accurate view of how it will look in paperspace viewport

Agreed with rkmcswain & Dean.

An additional comment is that the better practice would be always working on 1:1 scale on model space.
