Change all objects to a new layer & keep properties such as linetypes

Hello

I need to Change all objects (in different layers) to a new (and single) layer and keep the existing properties like `linetypes' etc that are in properties of a layer.

Brief Description:

1. Create a New Layer (to accomodate the unwanted/changing layers)

2. For some reason some entities such as linetypes do not keep their original properties when the Change layer command is completed.

Is there a command that will change layers keeping their original properties ?

the lines change linetype because their linetypes are associated "by layer" in the properties tab when you select them.

I dont believe there is a command that will keep them the same linetype.

You'll probably have to go thru all of the lines and change their linetype to whatever you want before you change the layer.

When you switch an object from one layer to another it will keep all the overrides. So to do what you want to do you could: Select everything on a layer that you want to move over. Change all the properties that you want to keep to an override. Like if it's a hidden linetype in the old layer set by layer, change it to hidden linetype as an override. It already is that so nothing will change. Then change the layer to the new layer. It will keep the override.
