Point nodes missing

My 2018 AutoCAD doesn't insert point nodes when I add points to the drawing.

I have posted this problem before and did the troubleshooting as recommended but with no solution. I run AutoCAD 2018.1.1 version O.154.0.0 with Carlson 2018 survey build 180109.

We have repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, run updates and not run updates, changed templates and various items but nothing seems to work.

Our last attempt was installing AutoCAD 2015 with Carlson 2018, this worked and we had our point nodes as usual.

Either I am unaware of changes over the past 3 years and am not able to make the nodes appear with CAD 2018 or we have something wrong with our install software.

Advise and direction is needed.

are they missing or just set to not be visible?

What is it set to in DDPTYPE?

It is set to the circle with a dot, pdmode 32, pdsize is set to 1 or larger.

Hi,

Have you tried looking at the following

Point Type Dialog (PTYPE) this controls the size and display of points

Also worth looking at the PDMODE system variable. Click Here

Hope this helps towards a soultion

if you have a clean drawing with nothing in it and intiat the POINT command does it act like it doing anything?

If it looks like placing them just not showing them do you get grips on them when you do a ctrl+A to select everything?

Are you talking about AutoCAD "Point" entities?

Or are you talking about Carlson cogo points?

Yes it shows up with the POINT command and then I can select all and erase the node that showed up in the blank drawing. I did this in my typical drawing and it to shows up also with the POINT command and erases.

On the Carlson ? I am using the field to finish under survey tab.

It sounds like AutoCAD 2018 is fine. I might get a hold of Carlson and see if they have solution.

as @rkmcswain indicated it might not be AutoCAD elements. I would double check any styles related to those elements to make sure they are in order.

Unless something has changed recently, Carlson points are composed of an AutoCAD block and attributes.
