Setting text size in AutoCad 2017

Looking for help with font size settings. When I type in the Command window the text is way too large, but in other areas it is fine. Any ideas?

Your title and your question in the message are very different ...

Sounds like you have an older AutoCAD that is not supporting DPI scaling (AutoCAD 2017 should have installed Update 1.2) and you have set the Windows text size to something different than 100%.

But that's guessing, we don't know anything about your software (well AutoCAD 2017, but which service pack/update), your operating system, your graphic card, ..

We are running windows 10 pro, version 1709, s/ 32.0 GM, 64 bit O/S

Video adapter is Intel HD Graphics 630 with a NVIDIA Quadro K1200

How do I locate the AutoCAD Service Pack information? I have not
downloaded any patches or service packs since installing the software in
December.

Please start AutoCAD and command _GRAPHICSCONFIG, there you can see which of these 2 graphic cards are used, I hope it's the nVidia GC.

If not you have found one of the reasons.

Please start AutoCAD and command _ABOUT, there you can see the information about which service pack you have installed.

You also can start Autodesk Desktop App (which is shipped with AutoCAD and by default installed with the AutoCAD installation ... make sure you are logged in, then wait a few minutes until the list of updates is refreshed ... you can then start the update directly from that app.

Thank you very much. After loading all patches and updates the problem
went away. I will keep more updated in the future.
