topic How to resize objects and blocks and retain or change to scale factor of 1.00? in AutoCAD Forum

Hello all,

I've been trying to figure out how to change the actual size of some objects and blocks I have but at the same time have them retain a scale factor of 1.00 after resizing. Either that or how can you change the size and set the new size as a scale factor of 1.00. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Monty

You need to either BEDIT the block or REFEDIT the block, to scale up the entities, then BSAVE and BCLOSE or save the changes and close out of the ref edit in place command depending on which command you use.

Hi,

if you want to make your block insertion bigger without changing it's scaleX/Y/Z property the only chance is to scale the content of the block.

Doing that by selecting the block-insertion ==> right click ==> block-editor ... and there you can scale the entities within the block.

Take care ... all insertions of that blockdefintion are now modified.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply. I've attached a copy of the DWG file that I have resized all of the objects, entities, blocks, etc. by a scale factor of 48. I now would like to have the new sizes of all of the entities become a scale factor of 1.00 at the new sizes. Is that not possible or would I have to change each and every individual object and block? Thanks again for your help and advice!

Monty

Ok, based on your latest post, I believe I better understand what you ate trying to do. I do not believe what you are wanting is something that can be done easily. You'll either need to change every block individually or find some sort of custom program that can change all the scaling at once.

Chris,

Thanks again for your reply. I was hoping there would be an easy way, but not to be. I'll look around and see if perhaps anyone out there has a lisp for batch editing block scale. It's a long shot but you never know. Thanks again for your help!

Monty

Hi Alfred,

Thanks for your reply. I posted back to Chris first and I think he's set me straight on what I'm trying to accomplish. It's pretty much the same as your advice. I do appreciate your reply though. Thanks again!

Monty
