I have a few objects that I have extruded along a path which can be seen in the photo below.

I would like to extrude another 2D object along the same (old) path to achieve a similar result to the photo below.

I would like to avoid re-drawing the original path if possible.

There seems to be two ways I could do this:

1. Somehow select the previous extruded path and use this to extrude my new object (Unfortunately when I extruded the objects DELOBJ was set to 1)

2. Revert the previous extruded object to its constituent 2D objects and original path and then re-extrude them together with the new 2D object.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried exploding the objects but I can not successfully re-draw the path through the cross sections which are created.

HI @Anonymous,

Is it possible to share your drawing file so I can give this a try? I am thinking that cutting a couple sections might make this easier to create a new path than to revert to the old one.

Hi,

If you created the solid by extruding circles along "flat" curve, then you can use SLICE command to slice one of the "tubes" at the quadrant point on the circle, then explode resulting solid, then join the side lines of the "section", created by slice. Now just offset the resulting curve by a distance equal to the radius of the circle which you used to create extruded solid.

See attached DWG
