Does AutoCad need more than 16gb or Ram?

My friend is looking for help to buy a new computer and she runs autocad a lot. She said mostly for 2D stuff though. Is 16gb enough for it to run smoothly or should I aim fo 24/32 gb?

Also, I've heard of UI issues at 4k res. What about 2K or something for her 2 in 1 tablet?

Is a good GFX card needed?

For 2D, 16GB should be plenty. If she does any rendering, that's when AutoCAD chews through the RAM. Or, if she works with large files in Photoshop or other programs, the extra RAM could come in handy.

There have been 4K screen issues in the past, but AutoCAD has gradually been improving those issues over the last 2 or 3 versions. I can't say how well it's working now because I don't have a 4K display.

For 2D especially, AutoCAD doesn't really need that great of a graphics card. However, having a graphics card is still better than the onboard graphics from Intel. The graphics card does not need to be certified to work with AutoCAD, but if she has any display issues or other weird glitches, Autodesk reps will default to saying it's her unsupported card. That's not usually the case, because the certified recommended cards still have issues and they still can't always resolve those, but having a certified card usually expedites this troubleshooting process a bit.
