CANNOT DELETE LAYERS!

I am working on a plan and cannot permanently delete all the layers in the drawing. I am pretty sure I have tried everything hence this post but to save some time; tried with no success - purge, audit, laydel, new drawing.

The layers do go but all pop back up when re-opening the file.

I have attached my working CAD file and all I want to keep is the current Lot Bdy layer. All the rest can go..

-purge is the command to use. Select "All" when you see the options in the command prompt.

No good, Purge doesnt work. Did it work for you? If it did please re-attach my cad file

It works perfectly for me.

The only layers cannot be removed are "0" and "LOT_BOUNDARIES". The latter cannot be delected because it is used by the geometries on your drawing.

Yes I know they cannot go. have you re-opened the plan and they are still all gone? can you please attach the file so I can see. Thanks

Thanks for attaching. But still no good!

I downloaded your file, moved onto my desktop and open it straight from there and they are all back.

It shouldnt even possible??

Surely I have cleaned the layers on the drawing file.

There most likely is a pre-loaded *.lsp or other add-on with your AutoCAD.

I dont think either of them, I am going to put it down as a weird glitch in 2016. I just opened my original file in a newer version of AC and purge worked fine. what a stupid problem to have.

What if you open my copy in your new version of autocad?

IMO based on your description so far, there is an add-on auto-loading pre-set layers when you open any drawing.

IOW please check if this happens when opening other drawing files in v2016.

Your file opens fine in newer v. I have opened my ''appload'' and checked all my lisps that load on startup and nothing out of the ordinary in there. Any ideas?

Check if there is a file name similar to "acaddoc.lsp" (this is a file that will be loaded automatically when AutoCAD statrs). If it is found, open it with Notepad.

Let me know what you see in the file.

It looks likely you have a untitled CAD manager/IT patroller in your work place.
