A really good function in Acad (and other programs) is the help [F1].

If you want to rwad about a command and that command has options or want a user input:
Start command you like, press F1
Help should jump to the current command or Dialog.

Read about the command/Systemvariable and sometime the links of these page for more informations.

And for the normal work: one eye to the cursor prompt if dynmode is on, or to the commandline(3 lines is better than 2 or 1 line) if dynmode is off.
If you have space enought: F2, your Textscreen.

There is the place where acad talk to you.

For the next time (s), perhaps you can help yourself faster then others can 🙂

Dimension Continue and Baseline

I am curious.... currently when I select DIMCONTINUE or DIMBASELINE, it automatically selects the last dimension I had drawn. But, for example, when I have deleted that DIM I can then select where I want the CONTINUE or BASELINE to start from.

It there a setting so that I have to select the dimension every time? So that it does not automatically select the last dimension drawn??

I actually prefer it this way, as sometimes I have to move around my drawings, and when I need to continue a dimension it is not always the last one drawn.

Hi,

you can get it from Select option .

Command: DIMCONTINUE
Specify second extension line origin or [Select/Undo] <Select>:
