Hello,

Over the past week, we are getting an Unhandled Error when trying to print directly from Autocad to our KIP 7170 networked printer.

When you select plot, it does not give you the opportunity change plotters, with this screen appearing and locking up Autocad.

The cursor then spins and you end up having to Ctrl+Alt+Del to crash out of the program.

I have had the IT and Printer people check to ensure all drivers are up to date.

Any assistance would be appreciated as we are not able to print any drawings set up to print directly to the printer as we do not get the option to change printers.

Thanks,

Nathan

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

If this problem still exists, please use the Windows Snipping Tool to do the screen capture and then attach the resulting PNG file. Unfortunately, I am not able to read anything from your PDF.

Is this error appearing with every drawing? What version of AutoCAD are you using? Are you able to print to the KIP from other applications?

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi @Anonymous,

Typically this error message is related to a .NET Framework error. I suggest trying the Repair tool for .Net and then possibly installing .Net Framework 4.7.2

Beyond that, can you describe your printer environment for me? Do you print through a print server or straight to the IP of the Kip? Are you using any print management software?

I assume that you have been printing normally up until recently. What has changed in your environment?

Hi John,

I had my IT guys check the .NET framework, but will confirm the version.

We print to the IP address of the plotter using the PrintPro interface that is provided by KIP.

It is a web based plotting system.

Nothing has changed in our environment, I can only put it down to a Windows update that has changed a setting somewhere in the system.

I will report back once i speak to my IT guys.

Thanks again,

Nathan

Have you tried uninstalling both BlueBeam as well as the Kip driver to see if functionality is restored? Is this happening in all files? I would like to see one of your DWG files where this occurs.
