topic I cant create a region from an exploded region in AutoCAD Forum

In my drawing I have a solid object. it was earlier created from a 2-d shape using region and extrude commands.

Now I want to edit it so I exploded it and separated the surface and exploded it again. Immediately after exploding, I cant create a region of it again. It says they are not on the same plane ( coplanar)! how is that possible and how can I resolve it?

Is it a bug or I am missing some knowledge?

I tried flatten command and it solves the problem but I am concerned that flattening make minor changes in my drawings. besides I want to know the reason for this strange behavior.

Thanks

see the attached file and try it.

I must add that, I have other solids in the same drawing and I have no problem exploding them and create the same region again. The issue is related to this specific solid that I attached in my previous post.

After converting each closed contour to a closed pline the regions can be created successfully.

https://autode.sk/2r3TTOH

HTH

cadder

Demonstrates that to convert lines of double exploded solids back to regions, you need to use a window, not a pick selection and cannot select out of plane elements together. Screencast has no audio. If you use pick, the lines selected in combination might have different extrusion vectors.
