AutoCAD 2025 TrueType Font Character Spacing

In 2024 vs 2025, all things being equal, a TT font (specifically Helvetica NeueLT Com 47 LtCn) displays differently with the same character widths. Please see the attached files.

I've attempted a workaround from another thread, to put the graphics in intermediate mode. It didn't work. No change to how it's displayed in 2025. I also tried disabling hardware acceleration which didn't change anything.

This particular font is part of our logo, so it needs to be correct and consistent on all drawings, all drafters, and all versions of AutoCAD (including LT). Unfortunately this bug means we'll need to use the MText editor to adjust the character width before printing, depending on which software version we use.

My hypothesis is that Helvetica has different versions, and for some reason 2024 is choosing a narrow version of the font whereas 2025 is using the default version of the font. Not sure why that would happen but if that's the case, it seems like a clear bug that needs to be fixed.

Any help would be appreciated!

Popular reported issue among some early adopters for the 2025s. Workarounds so far that sem to work are as follows until Autodesk releases a patch or more for it all:

Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD2025.

If still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort, and start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained here

Thank you for the response, and this is a disappointing issue for Autodesk to have. I am unimpressed.

To me, reducing the graphics quality is not a palatable solution. I think I'll modify our graphics LISP to set this variable to 1 for working, then make another LISP to easily set it to 0 for plotting. When they patch the issue, our graphics LISP will continue to work normally and the issue will go away.

You should not use fonts in a Company Logo that is distributed to others.

Use the Fxpress tools "TXTEXP" to turn the text into Autocad entities.

Or use WMFOUT/WMFIN, here is a link that explains how
