How can a create a thin mesh wire between two piping in 3D? I am trying to create a wire mesh wall that is btween the two pink pipes and I need it to follow the path

Without seeing the actual drawing it is hard to say what might work but perhaps a LOFT would do the trick.

Do you need a vertical mesh between the upper pipe to the lower pipe (see attached .png)?

If no, please explain more detailed where you need a mesh. If yes:

Unfortunately you deleted the splines from which the pipes were made. If you can recreate these splines, start the loft command, pick the two splines and finish the command. You will get a surface. Then attach a suitable material to the surface and you are ready.

If you have lost the splines irretrievably, ask again.

cadder

I was still having some problems with your splines. For illustration, I simply created some 3DPOLYs on top of your linework and then I was able to loft. I have attached my file but you might want to make your 3Dpolys more precise than I did.

Hi alecia,

what we need are this two splines (or 3DPlines) - see attachment PipePath. Where are they coming from, how did you create the path for your pipes? How did you create the pipes (The upper is only one surface, the lower a bundle of many surfaces)? Based on the current informations it is hard for us to recreate where you wish the path for the pipes.

Furthermore: Where do you wish the mesh, Pos1 or Pos2 or any other? (see attachment MeshPosition).

And generally: for such pipes you should prefer Splines instead of 3DPolylines. Your pipes don't look good.

cadder

Based on the given informations I modelled this:

- you need two splines along the pipes (as path), I reconstructed it from the given geometrie (approximately). 'Some of your splines (maybe all, i didn't check it) are self overlapping and therefore they can not be used for a good lofting)

- loft from spline_1 to spline_2

- sweep a circle along the splines

- attach material of your choice

cadder
