Parameters Manager won't appear (AC2018)

I'm using the default drafting and annotation workspace. I've never really messed with the UI settings. When I click Parameters Manager under the Paramectric tab, nothing happens. Well, something happens. In the attached gif, you can see that the grey border of the UI that separates the workspace from the open files tab area gets a little thicker. That's literally all that happens. I've tried basic stuff like restarting the program with no luck. Again, I've attached a gif of a screen capture to show exactly what happens. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous,

I am guessing the Parameters manager Palette is opening off screen. Do you have an external display hooked up? It is also possible that it is hiding under another window.

Can you check the possibilities and let me know the status?

Hey john.vellek. I double and triple checked that the pallet isn't behind anything. I do not technically have a multiple monitor setup, but I do have another laptop I am using to watch CAD training videos while I work on this machine with CAD. This will probably be more info than necessary- I do use an app called Input Director to share a mouse between the two machines, but I can't drag windows or pallets between them. It's just a simple over-the-network "share mouse" application. I included another screen capture gif just in case.

Edit: I just went to the link you provided and tried some of those things, still no luck. The pallet doesn't show up anywhere.

Let's try this before we Reset Settings to Default.

Can you create a new user on your computer with Administrator permissions? If so, log on with that account and verify that the Parameters Manger opens properly.

I just checked-- my windows user account says i'm the Administrator.

Edit: I just tried running acad as an administrator and my Parameters Manager now appears when I try to open it. I then tried to open it without admin permissions and it works now! That seemed to have done the trick, thanks!

HI @Anonymous,

Yes, your current account has admin permissions. I want you to create a new one though as it will not have all the changes you might have made within the application. (It will be factory fresh) I would like to see if it works in this state. If so, it should be easy enough to restore your original settings using the Reset.

If you prefer to just do the Reset first that is fine too.

I tried running acad as an administrator and my Parameters Manager now appears when I try to open it. I then tried to open it without admin permissions and it works now! That seemed to have done the trick, thanks!
