First, in the CTB file, all colors should map to black.

On the Page Setup screen, there is a checkbox beneath the plot style selector where you can specify that you want to display plot styles. (I think this is what you're after.)

Can someone help me out with creating a .ctb?

I've set up my ctb and the colour lineweights but I don't actually want the colours to show up in paperspace or when I print. And I don't just want to print in greyscale because then the lineweights show up too light.

I want the coloured linewights because it's easier to differentiate things in my drawing.

Thanks!

Another possibility:

Open the CTB file by double-clicking in your favorite file manager.
Tab over to "Form View".
Highlight the first line in the "Plot Styles" list box (Color 1).
Press [Shift] then [End] to highlight all.
In the "Properties" container, change the "Color" in the dropdown to "Black".
Save and close.

???

Hey, thanks for your reply! They said they would e-mail me once someone responded but they didnt 😞

Anyways, i'm glad you did but unfortunatly I just tried checking that box you mentioned and still plotting in colour... I've been researching a bit more and some blogs mentioned assigning a pen style but I can't find where pen styles are...mine says pen# so I assigned them all to 7 (which is black) and the same thing keeps happening. Do you know anything about pen styles?

Thank you!

I'm not sure if thats what I want...Basically I want my model space to be in colour and my paper space to be in black but with lineweights, if that makes sense.

Thanks!

Its a two part solution. You need to apply both of the answers provided.

1 - Edit your ctb to map all the screen colors to black.

2- Edit your page setup to display as defined in the ctb.
