Hi,

I do not know how to insert diagram as screencast. Hence diagram is included as an attachment.

I am stuck with the following :

1) What commands best suits for drawing the Arrows for direction objects: N, E, W, S, NE, NW, SW, SE. I did by with lines, but it's very bad way of doing I felt.

Direction objects I feel I can do by using single line command.

Also when I try to hatch the arrow object entire circle is getting hatched. Please suggest how to hatch only the arrow object. I tried using group and Region commands but unsuccessful.

Please guide

Hi,

>> I did by with lines, but it's very bad way of doing I felt. <<

after you draw it with lines you can join them by PEDIT (join) command or BPOLY command to create another one when you pick inside the triangle.

>> Also when I try to hatch the arrow object entire circle is getting hatched. <<

That's true ... especially when there is an overlap or intersection between objects . for that when hatching Select the arrow and don't pick inside to avoid this error .

also ... you have to know that ARRAY ( Polar ) command is the key for finishing this sample successfully .

Please try it and get back for any question .

Thanks Imad.

Can Point object be used for the arrow object ?

Also why Region or group commands are failed? Because region command is for creating a single object of multiple objects. Then why the hatch command didn't worked on the object which is created by using by Region command. Please explain.

Hi,

>> Can Point object be used for the arrow object ? <<

if do you mean by Point Object = point style , then answer is NO . if do you mean another thing please try to secribe more .

honestly ... without your drawing i can't give answers ,, also some times you have to know that the user himself make mistakes . i'm glad to take a look to your drawing ( AutoCAD 2013 format type ) . 🙂

Regards,

@Anonymous wrote:
…. What commands best suits for drawing the Arrows for direction objects: N, E, W, S, NE, NW, SW, SE.
You don't need to mess with Hatching for this. I would use the [2D variety of] SOLID command [read about it in Help].
