Hello. Do anyone know how to export 3D machine models to Unity3D? I'd like a way that does not include a lot of work but maybe has a somewhat easy import of the full 3D drawing.

I also use Blender for game graphics, maybe it is via Blender I can import to Unity3D? But when I seek the Internet all I find seems to be very cumbersome. There must be an easier method.

//Lars

There is no "easy button" available. You need to walk it through other programs and formats; in the case of a pure Autodesk solution you would bring the models into 3DSMAX (much like Blender) and optimize them. From there you can go to the various VR formats.

This is a needed insight. I am looking into learning about Unity, AR/VR, and AutoCAD probably will be my source for 3D content. My background is in the aerospace/defense, semiconductor equipment, and manufacturing areas and I'm looking to advance technical publications for these areas.

One question. Are these surface, mesh or solid models that you are attempting to import into Unity?

Here is my current AutoCAD model for Unity 3D. 95% of model is AutoCAD and or Civil 3D.

Unity Tri-Oval Working Progress 8

Up until AutoCAD 2018, you can export the 3D model as an FBX file. They removed FBX export in 2019. As stated, you can link your AutoCAD model into MAX, make any necessary changes and then export it to FBX or use the Game Exported if you have animation.
