How to get the calculator for scale factor in the Scale command

Sometimes, i don't remember how i did it, i get the prompt for calculating the scale factor, instead of just having to input the scale factor.

For example it asks for the current value, for example i enter 4, and to which value i want to scale and i enter, for example, 3. then it calculates the scale factor.

It's good because i can select the current endpoints and write the new desired length.

Hi,

as i understand that during a command you want an access for QuickCalc transparently :

Right-click to display the shortcut menu, and choose QuickCalc.
At a prompt for a value or coordinates, enter 'quickcalc or 'qc.

At the command line watch for the Reference option, pick that or type R and hit enter.

Scale, select objects, base point, scale factor or (Copy/Reference), ...

After specifying the base point you can type

'cal [ENter]

and then type in an equation.

For example, the following sequence will scale an object up by Fibonacci's ratio.

Command: SCALE
Select objects: 1 found
Select objects:
Specify base point:
Specify scale factor or [Copy/Reference]: 'cal >>>> Expression: (0.5 + 1.25^0.5)
Resuming SCALE command.
Specify scale factor or [Copy/Reference]: 1.6180339887499

First of all thanks for the help. the 'qc was helpful, but i wanted something else.

Yes, sometimes i get the prompt for Reference when i use Scale, but sometimes not!

And 'qc doesn't let me choose points, it only enables me to calculate
