Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

To do this in plain AutoCAD can be a bit cumbersome. First you need to see if you can get the point data into an Excel format. If you can provide this to me then we can explore creating a block with attributes to capture the information in the excel file and be inserted into a drawing.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

@Anonymous.bellek

John, spoke with Monica and she said to contact you reguarding point files.

I started using CAD in LLD 2000i and I was used to using the point files for processing info from data collectors

normally I am able to upload a PNEZD format to get 4 layers (point, point number, elevation, and description)

this version of cad does not offer point files and the info I bring in comes in on one layer.

if there is anything you can do to help (Monica mentioned a script) it would be much appreciated

thanks

Kevin

Stock AutoCAD does not have provisions for Point files. You will need to upgrade to Autodesk's Civil3D or consider an add-on for AutoCAD like DotSoft's MapWorks.

That was when Softdesk added to Autocad.

Then a year or two after that Autodesk made Points into AEC Point so that option was gone.
