Autocad command line disappearing

Hi everyone,

my command line in AutoCAD 2018 when typing shows only in top left corner for few seconds and then fades away. Also it does not have any button or anything I can change settings or even simply move it. Anyone knows how to solve it or knows a command that I can get to command line options and change all of this? TIA

Hi,

unfortunately not. This command only can turn it on and off, but can no change position or any other options.

Can you show us in a screencast (https://screencast.autodesk.com/Main/About) what happens please?

Please see the attached screenshot - as said the command line appears only like that in the top left corner with no possibility of changing position etc. and it fades away after few seconds.

I've never seen this before.

Next I'd try "Reset Settings to Default".

Your workspace is likely storing coordinates that are off-screen. Use the CUI editor to force the command line palette to be docked, then reload the workspace.

Perhaps also look into LOCKUI?

Enter Comment "GRAPHICSCONFIG" and off Hardware Acceleration. Find the attachments

Dock your commandline using CUI

1. Run the CUI command to open the Customize User Interface window.
2. On the left side, select your current workspace.
3. On the right side, expand Palettes and select "Command Line".
4. As shown in the screenshot below, change the Orientation setting to "Bottom". Hit [Apply] and [OK] to leave the CUI.

Hi everyone,

thanks for our help. Happened that when I restarted AutoCAD the command line was back at the correct place working normally. Did not have to use any of the solutions you suggested so can not mark which one of them would work unfortunately. Thanks again anyway.
