This doesn't address secure ftp connections hence the "s" in sftp. With A360 going away March 25th and the Autodesk Drive replacement not having shareable folders just files we need sftp functionality.

But you know Autodesk is likely working on yet another ribbon or interface change.

I'm convinced they think they are doing an outstanding job.

Autocad provides interface to open a dwg file from ftp server.

Is it possible to access the dwg file from sftp server instead of FTP server.

If SFTP server is not possible is it possible to place a file in apache server over https url and open it ?

We are trying to use secure protocol so trying for sftp/https

And when i try to open a dwg file from local machine it is working fine. But the same is not working if i open the same placing the file in apache server and provide url of the file in search the web option

I tried setting up swish, an sftp plugin for explorer. There seems to be a bug that prevents it from passing the login credentials (half a day wasted). Your advice lead me to look at the FTPUSE command. Haven't tried it yet, doesn't specifically state it works for sftp.

We will likely manually transfer files using WinSCP and through briefcases on our Zimbra server.

Note our goal is to retain control of our files so we are not looking to use cloud services.

This isn't an FTP solution, but Autodesk have a product called Vault which you can store your files in, and sync across your network to other offices.

There is a cost to it though, not sure if you guys want to pay $$ for another local based solution.

We didn't consider Vault. It does not run on Linux servers so that means another Win box plus a vpn for remote workers to access.
