When I Export my 3D object into an .stl file, it comes out flat and has no Y-Axis. It's watertight and when I hover over my object it is considered a 3D object, so why does it not export properly and how do I fix it?

Hi,

would you mind showing the DWG with the object you try to export?
Also please let us know which version of AutoCAD you are using.

And at least a screenshot, what you see when you open the STL (in a perspective view)

Hi,

PNG's is nothing I can try on my system to (hopefully) find the source of the issue you have when exporting.

So please show the DWG-file, not just screenshots, and also start command _ABOUT and show a screenshot of that dialog (to see which updates are installed).

However, from the screenshot you showed from the result, it does not look even similar to the source, are you sure you have opened the correct file? Have you tried to open the STL with a different program?

I made this for someone else and it appears the same on their program when opening the same file, hence why I am here searching for a solution, I might be exporting it wrong but idk

Hi,

ok, your AutoCAD 2024 does not have any service packs installed, please do this first.

This is how your _ABOUT dialog should show the version information:

Then, your object shows the same behaviour when I run the export, the reason (that's why I needed the DWG instead of the PNG) are the high coordinates you are using for your object.

Move your object more close to 0,0,0

When you then export the object again, you'll get a better result.

Also set inside AutoCAD the variable FACETRES to 10 which gives you a smoother result for the circles/arcs.
