Hi, @john.vellek,

I do not have either of those fonts installed. The CAD user with the problem may have them installed on his computer. However, I have attached our CTB file.

Yes the file is quite large and definitely may cause an issue if my coworker was not purging the file.

It apparently works for my coworker when he prints it to one sheet.

Thanks again,

-Nick

My coworker has an issue when he Plots or Publishes to PDF where certain items in paper space will not appear in the PDF that is created. Another coworker has the same issue with the same file. I have tried printing the file and have not had any problems. The issue seems to be linked to a block that is inserted in to CAD. I asked my coworker to delete the block, purge the file and create a new block and the issue remains.

I have attached images of the PDF with and without errors and an error that appears in Adobe Reader when I open the PDF.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Nick

Hi @ndawsonmccann,

I, like Dean, found no problems printing the D1.04 sheet to a PDF (attached).

The only think I don't have is the CTB file that you typically use and Architxt.TTF and FangSong_GB2312.TTF. Can you zip that up and attach it to a post so I can see if that makes any difference?

I ran my plot in AutoCAD 2019. I also ran PURGE multiple times and it was able to remove some zero-length geometry as well as some DGN linetypes.

I do see however that your file is really quite large. I wonder if you are having some memory issues when plotting this "set". Does it behave if plotting one sheet at a time?

Hi @ndawsonmccann,

I don't see your CTB file attached. You might need to ZIP it before attaching to a post.

I decided that while I was waiting for it, that I would first , remove the content in the left side of the model that is unused. I also split the Spec sheet data into its own file.

Now I have two files that are 12MB's instead of a single one at 40 MB. In the remaining detail sheet there still appears to be a lot of content in the file that is not being used. I suggest splitting this out too so you can get smaller file sizes. Not only will this be faster performing but will also keep your data in smaller amounts which puts it at less risk of corruption.

If this were my project, I would put all the layouts into a Sheet set for easier maintenance, sharing of properties and perhaps easier publishing. I attached a sample of this and it seems to work quite well. I hope this is worth some consideration.

Hey @john.vellek,

I have zipped the CTB and attached it.

I agree the file has a lot of unused content that needs deleting and purging, etc. When my coworker reached out to me at first, I deleted the tab and copied an existing tab and recreated the viewports and that seemed to do the trick. He seems to think it is due to a block. I even had him delete the block and purge and recreate the block without luck.

I am hesitant to switch over to Sheet Sets. Perhaps in the future, we still have other CAD standards to implement first and sheet sets are towards the bottom of the list.

This file is from a coworker in a different office and they are using slightly different files from me. I'm at a loss here.

Please let me know if the CTB changes anything. Thank you again for all of the help.

-Nick

I went back to the original file you provided and used your CTB file. I used the Page setup you had provided with no changes. I was able to plot to a multipage PDF and it appears to be intact. Adobe Reader opens it up without error.

So, to the original issue, I suspect the one computer might have memory issue when processing the file. You might verify that everything (OS, Drivers, Applications) are fully updated. YOu might also turn off all other apps and add-ins while working in AutoCAD to see if that helps

Your posted file seems to have DGN data, they can slow down files on older AutoCAD versions

DGN ComplexData........... | Purged : 205

The file, if your colleague is interested, could also be split up into multiple DWG files all xref'ed into one top file (each dwg file is one of the many clusters of similar type of content I see in modelspace).
