Due to the nature of the business I cannot display any drawings. We just upgraded to AutoCAD 2018 and a few of our designers are experiencing this error. Don't believe it is related to settings as these are 20 plus year experienced designers.

Then - within a copy of a drawing - delete all from your modelspace as well as all but one layout, run command _PURGE to clean unused informations like styles and block-definitions.

Make sure the same issue happens again, then you can run command _ETRANSMIT and upload the zip-file.

At least it is something your 20 plus year experienced users can't solve.

If we should step in, we need the possibility to see more details than just the tiny screenshot.

Yes, Replace your Model with one Rectang, so you can share the whole etransmit-zip incl. pc3 pmp and the original Pagesetup, OR?

And i mean you are wrong, why? The small preview (normally) display you papersize and

we can see it is a strange format. Like 10x5000mm ..

Without your dwg and plot support files we can only say:

Create a new pc3

Check your used papersize

If you have a papersize with a X to Y factor ~ 5:7 the paper in the black preview box would filled the whole area.
With a papersize with X to Y factor 1:100 you only see a small "line".
And a bit more if you not only have a little altered image in poor quality.

But of course there can also be an unexplainable problem. If you can see the files we know more.

Have you tried it? Would have been done faster than writing the question here (and don't get an exact answer as no-one here can give you that answer).

Please let me start a comparison ... my car's engine does not start, if I build in my battery into your car, will it start then? You can't tell me the answer as long as you don't get some information about what exactly happens now, also details like sound (does the starter work), like measure the power of your battery and a lot if other informations are needed someone needs to measure or identify.

Without seeing and listening what's happening, how should anyone tell you that it will work on your system.

We both mentioned how you can try to create a new dwg-file to reproduce the issue, I'm even not sure if you have tried that. But asking for help means we can give suggestions, you have to give us informations, without informations we can't help in an efficient way.

Just as one example of effecitve working: you asked a question more than 2 hours ago, with a dataset I guess you would have been ready to continue to work 20min later, now it's 2 hours later and we don't know what's the current state in your project.

You are the only one who can check the system plot driver, the plotter config file(pc3) and the refer *.pmp file.

But if it works on your system we knowing the problem is not the dwg data.
Do you plot with the same (saved) pagesetup?

Without the data i guess the pmp file (for the papersize) or for system printer, the custom papersize definition isn't the same.

Your cad version is the same?

The paper size in the pop-up says 0x17. That is wrong.

i would like to see your sample drawing file with a named page setup applied to the layout. Please then also include the PC3 and the PMP files used in the plot configuration.

Please also tell me the exact version of AutoCAD you are using by typing ABOUT at the command line.

I am hoping that we can easily resolve what might be causing your print issues.

Yes it is wrong that's my question, couple users out of a few hundred get this. I select normal paper size 11 X17 and that's what happens. Using AutoCAD 2018, recently upgraded from 2015. Please understand I cannot post, send, e-mail any information. I also cannot stay online. I check periodically for replies. Thanks in advance.

If you just upgraded, did you also migrate your settings? I don't like to ever migrate plotter settings other than the plot style.

If you start from Scratch with a system printer does this then behave?

Your screen shots of the plot dialog show you are using EXTENTS for What to Plot.'Use a WINDOW for What to Plot instead. Also, your sheet size dimensions 11x17 (horizontal X vertical) indicate the sheet is tall and skinny, or portrait, whereas the drawing orientation indicates landscape.

You are also printing from modelspace and will have no 'scale' on your final output because you are using Fit to Paper which means if you use a wider sheet, your drawing will follow and get wider too. And the thumbnail preview is not right, 17" tall and 0" wide. This means your sheet width is skinnier than my dental floss.

Try this, it might work for.

New print setting that may work for you.

Image below is the final output using the blue settings shown above.The printed drawing looks like this.

Just in case you didn't notice, the 11x17 paper size is calling for 0x17 paper as indicated in the screen shot with the big red arrows. There may be other issues including some what you have mentioned, but that errant paper size needs to be corrected first.
