Lines and Arcs do not connect properly when I plot

Hi,

I fillet some of my rectangles and have some arcs connected to lines but when I plot, they don't show up as connected. I have tried to make the loose lines and arcs into a polyline but it is still not smooth when I plot.

Is it possible to share your drawing file or even a part of it? I would like to verify that the lines and arcs actually do "connect" at the same points.

Hello! Thanks for replying, but I've managed to fix it by increasing the dpi in the plotting properties 🙂

Hi,

Changing the DPI didn't actually solve anything, so my lines are still not connected. I attached my dwg.

Hi @Anonymous,

I started looking at your drawing file. I notice that many of the corners are constructed of plines which is a bit unusual rather than just using a FILLET command to make a nice curved corner that will connect to the straight sides.

I also noticed that much of this is just geometry rather than being blocks. The geometry is also not set to bylayer.

Ideally, you would create a block on layer 0 with properties set to Bylayer for each typical piece and then insert the block on the correct layer that already has a color assigned to it. I have done this for some of the chairs and for the sink.

It's a lot better, thank you! But when I make the lineweight thinner, the lines are more obviously unconnected.

Hi @Anonymous,

Please take a look at the attached file. I did clean up the CAFECHAIR block a bit more as it was not even perfectly symmetrical. At any rate, once I cleaned it up, I then used the AutoCAD PDF driver and set the vector resolution to 4800.

This seemed to give me a better quality plot.
