If you talk about Civil3D Object, you need Civil3D ObjectEnabler!?

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-civil-3d-2018-object-enabler.html

But MANIPULATE C3D Feature in AutoCAD? Good Luck, some edit functions could be available.

Try (and error)

Thank you for your feed back. I don't thing I was being clear. I work in Auto CAD 2018 2D not 3D or civil. I bring in CAD files that sometimes were created in Civil which I need to manipulate in Auto CAD 2018 2D. Is there an Object enabler that allows features brought in from Civil to be manipulated in Auto CAD 2018 2D?

If you need to modify civil 3D objects and don't have civil 3D you may need to download DWG TrueView and install it and the Object Enablers and covert the drawing to autocad using the solution here. This will explode all Civil 3D objects and you will not be able to turn them back into Civil 3D object after doing this so you need to be sure that is what you want to do.

As the user already has AutoCAD 2018 there is not need to install DWG-TrueView, the command _DWGCONVERT is also available in Vanilla AutoCAD.

You (and me) didn't think about if the Civil Version is 2019, then you need DWGTrueview (and 2019 C3D OE).

But it sounds that the thread opener didn't test anything. Just waiting for the next answer.

I have problems opening civil 2019 in autocad 2018 but I can open civil 2019 in civil 2018 just fine. Maybe its just a problem on my end though.

Question for the hive mind, because I can't find the answer in searches.

There are many versions of the object enablers (civil 3d 2022, 2023, etc). I'm working currently on civil 3D 2022, but our office has a mixed environment, where some of the survey techs are on 2020 or 2023. When sending files out, some clients cannot see the civil 3D objects such as surfaces and labels as they run vanilla AutoCAD. Which enabler(s) would they need? Or would they need all three to match the versions from our mixed environment? Do the latest ones (say civil 3d 2023) also show objects created in 2022 and previous civil 3d versions?

Thanks.

OEs match us with the year version you have installed: C3D2020 OEs only install and are useful for AutoCAD2020 users, 2023 goes with 2023s, 2021 goes with 2021s and so on.

And Autodesk has decided that most current version users can only grab OEs they need from their AutoCAD accounts page here and no place else

For much older versions, 3rd party websites seems to still hold them, try a websearch.
