Well Wine Is A Microsoft Windows to run on Unix-like operating systems. So My answer is No. Autocad only works for Windows OS and Mac OS Not Linux.

Short answer "NO!". Long answer "Of course you can!" but do you want to?

First let me say the best environment is a virtual Windows setup in your Linux, of course that means setting a virtual up and having your licensing for Windows in place. (My Licence came with my Dell but to set up my virtual I had to order a Microsoft OS DVD from Dell. Dell offers licensed DVD for sale either in physical DVD media or by downloading an ISO image . Contact Dell support and have your service tag information handy. The license for the OS goes with the computer so even if your computer is second hand you should be able to get a restoration OS disk or image.)

In the virtual you install AutoCad just like any other Windows application but before you do make sure you have the ability to connect to the internet through the virtual you are running so you can validate and activate your installation. That's it, your are done.

To install AutoCad and run with Wine is a major project. The problem lies that the Setup application starts an installer which is stubbed out to launch other executable Windows applications. Although using standard Window's API calls you are essentially launching more than one Windows application that Wine knows nothing about unless you register each and every executable in Wine. Even then, Wine is not a OS shell with all the memory management to allow information to pass in between the discrete applications being launched by the AutoCad installer. Getting past the Setup conundrum can be done manually but requires hours of dedication. You are manually doing all the work that the OS would do. Even then running AutoCad is application that constantly loading and unloading things from memory and things tend to blow up quick. Without an OS shepherding the application you can not effectively get work done in the program.

AutoCad with all its subparts was was designed to run in an OS container and not be run by an emulator.

Hence the recommendation you setup a virtual environment with Windows and install AutoCad there. You will be much a happier.

I tried installing AutoCAD 2021 on Ubuntu 20.04 but the installation failed. Have a look:

My PC is not powerful enough for a VM so I'll install it properly in Windows 10, which is the other OS on my PC.
