Workspace not showing anything

Hi,

When I first downloaded Autocad 2019, it worked perfectly fine. By the way, I am using Windows 10 as my OS. However, I opened it today and the workspace is not working. When my cursor is in the workspace, it is not shown. But when I bring the cursor to the tabs and buttons, it shows. I also found that I can use the workspace when I minimise to tabs.

However, the format when i minimise to tabs is just to inconvenient for me. I will attach some photos to help make it easier to understand.

The first photo is the format that I want it to be in. I can click on the workspace and highlight, but it won't show where the cursor is going, the highlighted area, even the line when I use the line function.

The second and the third photo is in the minimise to tab format, which allows me to see the cursor and see what is on the workspace: the highlighted area, line, etc.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem, please let me know.

This not only happens on Autocad of but it also happens on Civil 3D.

Try turn Off GRAPHICSCONFIG

It's a glitch. If you save and close that drawing and reopen it, does it fix it?

Welcome to the Autodesk Community, and thank you for posting your question here in the AutoCAD forum!

I would recommend first turning off hardware acceleration, like @alex101000 recommended. I would also suggest checking that your screen resolution is set to the recommended setting, as that can sometimes cause scaling issues. You can also try turning off DPI scaling, by doing the following:

Close all instances of AutoCAD
On the desktop, right-click on the AutoCAD icon
Select Properties
On the Compatibility tab, uncheck Override high DPI scaling behavior
Click OK, launch AutoCAD, and test again

I tried to turn off the hardware acceleration and my workspace came back to normal. However, my cursor is very laggy. Sometimes it took up to a second or two to get to where I want it to be.

I also tried to uncheck the DPI scaling, but it seemed like nothing happened.

Is there any other way I can do to get my workspace but does not affect the cursor speed?

Sorry, I have localization AutoCAD. Any ways for your second problem:

0. Update driver for video card; update AutoCAD for latest Updates & HotFixes

1. Settings, Display, Tips for rollovers [?] turn OFF

2. Turn OFF Quick Properties

Hi @s3690674,

Turning off hardware acceleration wouldn't directly cause the cursor to lag; there are likely some other factors causing performance issues. Are you using a dedicated graphics card?

Turning off hardware acceleration is more of a diagnostic tool than a solution. Because it "solves" the problem, it indicates your computer is having problems with the graphics system. Most commonly this is out of date or improperly installed GPU drivers, or a GPU auto-switching utility (common on laptops) getting in the way. Once you confirm those are correct, turn hardware acceleration back on in AutoCAD.

A quick point about your terminology: "workspace" in AutoCAD is a specific term. It refers to the layout of user interface items, like Ribbon panels, palettes, menus, and toolbars. You might consider using a different term such as "drawing area".
