Autocad 2019 Raster Image Property gone

What happened to the Raster image property in Autocad 2019??? When I select an inserted(referenced) image in Autocad 2018 and open the Properties panel I get Raster Image Properties.

When I do the same thing in Autocad 2019 I get "No selection".

Hi,

I have face same issue in AutoCAD 2016 LT version on my Office.

1. Visual Style 2D wrieframe

2. Turn OFF GRAPHICSCONFIG

3. Enter new value for QPMODE <1>

4. WBLOCK cad file in AutoCAD 2018

5. Update AutoCAD 2019 Click here

Hi @jcobb,

Perhaps you can share some sample files so I can see how your drawing is built. When I attach a JPG to my file in AutoCAD 2019, select it, I can then see the Raster Image in properties.

Are you using JPG or different format?

Sorry. It isn't my file because it happens on every file that I open with my Autocad. If the person sitting next to me opens it with their Auotcad, it works fine and they get the raster image properties.

I emailed you a drawing. Also the Image contextual ribbon is displaying with an image selected.

That's weird. I didn't get your drawing. I checked my spam too. I am getting emails notifying me of these posts, but no email with an attachment.

Hi @levi.wooten,

You indicated in your email that you create a PDF from a dwg in AutoCAD, convert it to a TIFF in PDF Exchange and then embed it into AutoCAD. This is a strange workflow to me but regardless, can you explain how you embed the image?

When I use IMAGE attach or a Paste Special (Image Entity), I am able to adjust the image brightness,contrast, fade, etc.

I can do this with PNG, BMP, TIFF, etc.

No, I think you are getting posts mixed up. I never said that and that is not what I do. I simply attach my images. I'm going to do a clean uninstall of my Autocad 2019 and reinstall it. I'll let you know how that goes.

We don't create them from the dwg if we have a dwg. I was only referring to how the tif image was created to let you know that it was a new image and not a corrupted file. We only use a tif if the dwg was not supplied, but we will insert the tif and then embed the image into the drawing using the command "iembed". I am able to make changes to the image with change properties command but not with the properties pallet.

Hi @levi.wooten,

IEMBED is not a native AutoCAD command. Which specific version of AutoCAD are you using?

Can you try to embed using a copy/Paste Special and embed the image as an "Image Entity"?

Iembed is not part of AutoCAD but is in Raster, but we have always been able to modify the image outside of having raster open.

I have not used this application for quite a while. I find that when I use the Image manager and Un-Embed the image I have no problems editing the properties in plain AutoCAD. I will have to see if this is an intentional feature change and report back.

Ok so if I understand correctly, un-embedding the image allows you to edit the image via properties, but if its left embedded then you get the no selection when the image is selected? I am getting no selection regardless if its embedded or not.

Hio @levi.wooten,

That is correct. If it is un-embedded I then get the image ribbon tools to work. The Image Adjust fields in the properties palette do not seem to allow any adjustments.

So the Autodesk desktop app just updated AND it showed that there was a new update for Autocad, version 2019.1.2. I installed the update and the problem was fixed.

I installed Autocad update 2019.1.2 and it fixed it.
