AutoCad 2018 execute tool not allowing Non-uniform scaling

We are finally getting our employees to move away from their AutoCAD 2017 to AutoCAD 2018. Now we are finding the tool palettes that allowed Non-Uniform scaling in AutoCAD 2017 does not allow it in AutoCAD 2018.

Seems that the Execute tool is not allowing it.

Is there a patch file needed for this? I have checked to make sure our CADs are fully patched but still all machines are having the same issue.

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I am not sure that there are changes to the palettes between the two releases. Are you trying to use the palettes that you created in AutoCAD 2017 and then just moved to the 2018 product?

Can you give me some more details /examples of what you are trying to do? I am happy to take a look at this issue for you.

What do you mean by the "Execute" tool?

Thanks for the response.

I recently joined this company and they have custom palettes they have been using for quite some time. These palettes bring in all types of blocks for each discipline. The blocks are made without the uniform scaling so they do scale non-uniformly with the insert command in 2018.
However in 2018 we get the following with trying to scale when using the tool palettes"

In 2017 our prompt looks like the following:

Both use the same tool palette and inserting the same block.

The command is the same and it can't find the blocks because you have not added that folder in the OPTIONS.

Look in the Support File Search Path.

What happen after you use insertion point? doesn't it pop up xyz?

No it just places it in the model space. Once in the model space you can scale it non-uniformly with the scale command, just won't prompt when picking from the tool palette.

Have you tried just the command :

.insert

(put a period in front is insert)

With that command the scale uniform is checked. Is there a system setting to change that to be unchecked?

What options are available for this block insertion when you rt-click on the block in the tool palette?

Post screenshots from 2017 and 2018's TPs, right click on the same exact tool in both, select PROPERTIES, post that pop-up screenshot.

The commandline is simply responding to commands, it's no indication of what got called.

Can you share a couple of the blocks that are behaving in this manner? I don't recall ever being able to set this in prior versions.

I have a CAD savvy employee here running 2019 and he says it doesn't prompt for the x and y scaling, then he tried 2018 and it didn't prompt for x and y scaling but then tried 2017 then it prompted for the x and y scaling.

Sounds like something changed.

Looks like TP in 2018-2019 is acting like INSERT command (pop-up version) and skipping over the scales questions, since the TP properties pre-defines a scale to 1 and no option for prompting at the commandline.

I like the 1x1 block idea in general though: has its limitations.

YEAH - I decided to make a test palette with a test block and there isn't a prompt for scaling again. Something programing wise must have changed.
So I'm thinking we are going to have to create dynamic blocks for those items.
