Convert Mtext to Attribute

Any way of converting Standard Mtext to an Attribute? Or Assign to a Att Def?

Having looked into it online, it Appears that AutoCAD Electrical has/had this facility...I can't find anything of the sort in ACAD 2017.

Any thoughts?

Hi @Anonymous,

You are correct that there is a way to convert single line text to attributes in AutoCAD Electrical. Here is an article that describes the process. There is not a similar feature built into vanilla AutoCAD. You might see if there is anything in the Autodesk App Store and also add a post in the customization forum to see if anyone there has a routine that does this.

On the Autodesk App Store there is an add-in called Text To Attribute 2021. It works for AutoCAD 2021 and all it's verticals.
