Always draw at full/"real" size. Reduced scales can be achieved with plotting scale if plotting from Model Space, or by assigning a scale to a Viewport in Paper Space, through which you "look into" Model Space, and plotting from Paper Space at full size [1:1].

Beginner Scale Question

Hi,

I have a question about scale. I do drawings by hand and want to learn how to use auto cad. I always do them on 36in paper so I scale down my drawing accordingly.

In auto cad, would I draw this full size 1:1 and then when I draw it on the architectural layout, it will scale down the drawing when I print?

Or do I draw, for example if my object is full size, and I can scale it down to fit 1:10, and my section throughs would be 1:5, would I draw it as I would on the drafting board, in scale?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
