TEXT SCALE ISSUE

I just downloaded autocad 2019 and I have an issue with the text scale from my previous drawings they appear bigger than what they are. I checked the propperties and they are the text has the same Hight than on my previous drawings but it shows different.

I guess it is a scale problem but I don't knoz hoz to fix it

Close the drawing and reopen it. When it opens, press F2 to open the text window, scroll up to the top and review. Were there any font substitutions ? (Example below)

yes there were 3 substitutions

Substituting [simplex.shx] for [Arial Narrow].

Perhaps the simplex font is slightly taller and wider than "Arial Narrow". Is this new install of 2019 on a new PC, or the same PC on which the drawing opened in the older version of AutoCAD looks OK?

This is on a brand new computer bought yesterday

All the file files i try to open from my company have the same issue with text scale. and text goes off the tittle block

Do you know how to fix the substitution at lauching autocad?

Since arial narrow is a true type font, it must be installed in Windows. Since AutoCAD is substituting for it, I have to presume that your Windows does not include the arial narrow font. Perhaps you can migrate it from your old PC.

Do the same with any other fonts that are missing too.

FYI: Text sizes and locations do not change in a DWG file (unless someone makes the change). But Fonts are referenced (not embedded into the DWG file), so if the external font definition is missing, or substituted for, then annotation in the drawing may look different. I think that is what's going on here.

Thanks, I m trying that right now, however I believe the issues comes from somewhere else since the difference of lenght is quite important to be only due to the fonts.

Here is a sample of Arial Narrow and Simplex fonts. As you can see, the Arial Narrow font is a shorter length than the Simplex font for the same text. Both are 0.2 height.
