Rasterized hatch

Hi everyone, I'm trying to edit a cad drawing in photoshop but am having problems with the hatching pattern. I've used a solid hatching pattern in the drawing and plotted a pdf so I can go into photoshop and edit it further. When the file rasterizes and opens in photoshop the hatching pattern seems to change from a solid fill to a kind of glitchy pattern. I've tried changing the hatch settings from associative to annotative, increasing the hatch scale and setting the hatch origin to the corner of my drawing but nothing seems to be working. Does anybody know a fix for this?

I don't know if the root of the problem is the AutoCAD's Solid Hatch or the printed PDF-format or the import into Photoshop.

Maybe you can check what happens, if you don't print to PDF, but export the dwg to BMP (command export, choose .bmp format).

(I don't know which file formats Photoshop can read. Perhaps you can also check another file formats while exporting the dwg.)

Thank you I'll give that a try, to be honest I've opened in illustrator and am working from there instead. The hatching seems to convert a lot better as a vector

I've just tried exporting as a bmp and the hatching seems to have sorted itself but the quality is too low and pixely to work as a raster. Thank you though

While you can bump up the quality of your pdf plot from AutoCAD I would suggest you stick with Illustrator if you can. Stay in the vector world as much as possible because Illustrator will allow the vector dwg to get back to AutoCAD for any further work. Try to make rasterizing a last process if needed at all.
