Update extracted data to external source

Hi there .

I'm using CAD to generate data extraction for the block I'm using in my drawing. I export the table to excel but, if I have any change in my drawing I can't have it updated in my external source. Is there any way if I can link the extracted data updated In my external source ? I've been trying using Data Link Manager but no success after that.

Hello @Anonymous,

I don't believe you can have the extracted block data in your drawing automatically update in Excel. You can link AutoCAD & Excel data by creating a data link. *Make sure to close out the Excel document while setting this up in AutoCAD.

Hi there,

Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it.

Sorry for replying so late but i have been traveling.

In fact I'm trying to update my table of components after data extraction to an external source (excel file) . So after I have the data extraction for all the blocks that I'm using all the in my drawing I was looking how can I have this info updated to my external source. If I'm adding any other block or deleting one, after I update the table I want this info to be updated also in my external file the file I created by exporting the table.

I have the same request. When setting up dataextraction i am unable to update the data extraction to simply update to an external xls file. Everytime a new datatextraction has to be set be going through the dataextraction wizard.

How can this be resolved ?

I too am having the same issue. I can have the table update in Cad, however the external .xls file will not update.

I keep getting the following message.

i have checked the data link and it does have a check in the box to allow data to be written out to external source.

if anyone could help i would be very greatful.
