topic BLOCK EDITOR ANNOTATION SCALE in AutoCAD Forum

I make blocks for survey boundaries, which have feature line labels in them. If I need to rotate them to found irons...this just helps keep them separate from the rest of the drawing until ready to explode into final survey boundary.

So, what is extremely annoying is working in a drawing at, say, 20scale, going in to block editor to edit the block and the scale goes to 1scale. I have to change it to something I can read (like back up to 20scale) every time I edit the block, which can be a lot.

Is there a way to set the block editor to keep the scale of the drawing and not default to 1 or to set the block, so when open in block editor it always opens to 20scale? Note, I don't want to set a scale for the block that doesn't adjust with the rest of the drawing, which I'm sure you can do, but would be just as tedious as the current issue.

Hi can you post a demo file or screen shots of the issue here? 😐 I couldn’t exactly understand what exactly you need

See screenshot in model space annotation at 50scale. I go into block editor
and it reverts to 1=1.

Although now it’s not doing it… it’s staying at 50scale and if I exit the
block and change the model scale to 100, double click on the block to edit
it, it’s still at 50scale! Every once in a while it does hold the scale and
I don’t know why or what I’m doing for it to switch back to 1=1?

I may not understand the question, but this sounds like something Point Key Descriptions may be able to help with.

You may be able to use your block created at a 1:1 scale and incorporate it into a COGO point style. From there, a point description key could pull the intended scale and rotation and apply it to the COGO point upon import, saving you from having to do it manually. Of course, this could mean that the surveyors in the feild would have to add the scale and rotation to the point description while they are out in the field.

My apologies if I understand your issue incorrectly and I am way off on what you are asking.

Edit - I thought I was in the Civil 3D section so this whole comment may be pointless. 😞
