Hi,

from the JPG it's hard to say what you have as objecttype. So I can only guess:

Try to turn off FIELDDISPLAY (>>>details<<<)

If I'm correct with that then please understand that this grey background is not printed, it's just as information on the display to know that are fields! If you print to PDF you won't see that background.

If that does not help then please upload the dwg-file so we can look into that.

Hi,

>> Actually i need to add a white mask that will be printed ?

If you want to make the background (behind the text) invisible, then you might need a mask, yes.

If your question is how you do that I can only repeat ... without the dwg-file we don't know what you have (block with attributes, leader, mtext, ...?), if we know that we can give valid suggestions.

For MTEXT objects (and objects based on that like multiline attributes) you can select the object and activate the masking.

Yeah So the grey bit behond the numbers is grey and will not be printed but what i have been asked to do is to change the grey to a white that will be printed to show the cords to the contractor more easily

Hi,

>> So the grey bit behond the numbers is grey and will not be printed

In case these objects are FIELD's ... then yes, correct.

>> change the grey to a white that will be printed to show the

>> cords to the contractor more easily

You are asking for "which tool do I need to open a part", but you don't show which type of screws you had used to close it. As long as we don't know which type of objects you have we can't describe which tool to use!

The suggestion with MTEXT did not work? Then please upload a dwg-file with at least one of these objects you want us to help you how to add a printable white background.

If you are using a attribute inorder to graphically represent the coordinates in your drawing, You have only 2 choice

Grey Color (FIELDDISPLAY-1)

No Background (FIELDDISPLAY-0)

On the other hand if you are using a text inside a dynamic block, there is a workaround to achieve what you need

turn off the field display (FIELDDISPLAY-0) and use background mask from the properties of text

but in this case the coordinates are pulled from an object which is already inside the blockeditor, so it is tricky to make it work in the drawing space. I've made a sample file of what you are asking for(attached).

Try to edit that and learn for yourself what is happening inside the block and why.(But feel free to ask any doubt, if you lost 🙂 )
