topic AutoCAD cursor and object snap moves slow when using any function in AutoCAD Forum

When I use any function in my AutoCAD drawing regardless of the size, my cursor moves slow and gets jumpy. When I just move through the drawing, it moves smooth and uninterrupted, but once I select even the dimention function, my cursor takes several seconds to move from point to point and even trying to select an end point of a line takes 3 seconds or more. I don't have snap mode on and I have already went through GRAPHICSCONFIG which made no difference. I read about an accelerator value and mine is set at -2 currently. I have 8G ram and an i7 processor. I am wondering if there is another setting I am missing that is causing this major slowdown when I try to use any command.

Thank you,

If your DYNAMIC INPUT is ON Turn it OFF (Press F12). I believe what you explained is for any DWG file and not just in a particular file.

My Dynamic input was already turned off. Turning it on did not make a difference either.

restart your PC.
Start AutoCAD, open a new blank file, draw a dozen things: can you repeat the problem?

From the AutoCAD command line, try turning off TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY (setting to "0"). There is also an icon toggle for this on the AutoCAD status bar (looks like a checkerboard). If it doesn't show on the status bar, you can turn the toggle on using the 3-bar icon at the far right.

Transparency toggle

INSERT your problem file into this no-problems new file, EXPLODE, test, if the problem goes away then SAVEAS, create a new file, work with it and enjoy the rest of your work day.

If the problem is still there post that DWG file here for others to examine.
