Check out Framecloud... used it at Autodesk University to run Revit and AutoCAD... it was quite snappy, not laggy at all.

Is there an online web based 2D CAD out there?

I've developed a standalone EXE for a customer which uses DXF files as the main graphical data format.

They are now asking if it is possible to port it to be an online application.

The project is a project which will be used by architects and building engineers, so a toy CAD is not acceptable, it needs layers and good DXF support. It would also need an API to interfaces with the core of my sources from, probably, C#.

If anybody knows I thought you lot would!

I've looked around with Mr.Google but found nothing which matches...any pointers or ideas. Or is serious online CAD still not quite there yet?

Then as @Tomislav.Golubovic suggested, subscriptionis required to use WEB APP

If you are looking for a Web based DXF editor other than Autocad Web, I suggest that you do some google in this matter. As I don't think it is right to bring up discussions on third party softwares in an Autodesk forum.

There is nothing like that today: try again in 2-3-5-10 years.

There are free CAD programs your recipients can acquire and install on PCs or tablets or smart phones: otherwise only viewers are online as a vible option today.
